Our first giveaway has concluded. We decided to fore go the high tech random number generator, for the ol' tried and true "pick em out of the hat" technique. We assigned each participant a number.. We next wrote the numbers on pieces of paper. Those that gave the blog and the knife giveaway a "shout" on the blog or web site got additional chances.
We folded the pieces of paper up, put them into the hat, stirred em up and had my granddaughter pick one out. I would have included a photo of granddaughter pickin the winning number/name. But she wanted no part of being associated with a hat with the message that it has. Even though the hat was given to me by her 5 years ago on the occasion of my 29th birthday. Hee Hee!

Holy Smokes!! I just let out a whoop that scared ten years that my wife cannot afford to lose.
Believe it or not but I turn 70 this month and it is the first time I ever won anything.

well id have to say its about time!
the knife is the one pictured in the give away, its a thin narrow specialty detail knife, made of hard carbon steel that should stay sharp with only occasional honing, its not for hogging or making twisting cuts,
fitted with a quilted maple handle if i remember it right from when i made the components, i sent a bunch of kits to tom h. and he assembled them,
the knife should arrive carving sharp, any problems with the knife, contact me. thomp51La@gmail.com ill make it right!
tom h. will be out of pocket the next week, not sure if he got it sent off yet or not..

I got 2 nice knives in the mail and they are really nice. I don't know what I did for sure to deserve two but I want to thank both Thomp and Tom H for all they did for me. I notice that Tom H is two days older than I am.
Thomp makes some really nice knifes and my favorite style of carving is in the Jack Price style so they will be well used.
