Little Owl - Pattern/Plan

Several e mails have expressed a need for a pattern for the little owl.  Perhaps the photo of the completed little owl plus some sketches and notes will be of use.

Start with a 3/4" x 3/4" x 4" length of Basswood.  The extra length of the Basswood is to use as a handle during whittling.  Either whittle on the corner or split the basswood on a scroll saw end to end as illustrated, in the first sketch.

Draw the owl on the corner of the Basswood, as illustrated in the second sketch.  The SHADED parts of the sketched owl are then removed with your knife.
