Whittle Gifts

Several readers have said that they too like to whittle/carve where ever they might be.  Some times they like to make a gift of what they are whittling or carving.  I like to carry a few pieces of triangular cut Basswood and my pocket knife with me at all times.  Rather than whittling just anything and gifting it, I like to make the gift useful.  One way of doing this is to super glue a thumb tack to the back of the basswood triangle.  Then put a plastic earring back on it.  Whittle or carve a Santa head, Leprechaun head, or anything thing else, on the corner of the wood.  After the piece is carved, cut it off from the larger piece of wood.  Makes an instant collar pin.
