Another Painting TIP!

For those who don't seal a Basswood carving prior to painting (with or without diluting the paint) you run the risk of having one color "wick" into an adjacent color.  A good way to prevent this "wicking" is to outline the colored part with a wood burned line.  This wood burned line will prevent paint from "wicking" past it.  It will also enhance the effect of shadows.
