Whittling from sunny Florida

Been situated in the Florida Panhandle for a little over one week.  Cool but sunny, and a whole lot better weather than at home in the north.  In the process of attempting to connect to the wireless in our leased house, something happened to my computer.  It either picked up a virus or more than likely I managed to change the settings.  The result is the same!  The computer freezes up after a few minutes.  I did bring my old laptop as a backup.  I'm on the ol' laptop.

The most wonderful thing about Florida in the winter besides the weather, is what you can do.  I can do anything that I want to do.  And that for me is whittling.  Uninterrupted whittling!  Guilt free whittling!  If I see a problem with the house, it's not my problem.  It's not that way at home.  Two weeks before I left for Florida the main sewer line from the house to the septic tank was clogged with roots.  Fix it Tom!  Two days before I left, I noticed that the snow had melted in a spot in the front yard.  Further investigation revealed that the water line had sprung a leak.  Make arrangements for a friend with a backhoe to dig the line up and fix or replace.....Not that way in a rented house in Florida.

Typical day so far:  Get up when I want to----
6AM (that's sleepin in for me)
Put the coffee on
Walk up to the Tradin Post for a sausage biscuit and a cup of coffee

Eat biscuit and sip coffee
Whittle while talking with others
After two hours walk back to the house and whittle
Check the laptop for messages
Lunch
Whittle or paint some pieces
Whittle
Whittle
Etc........
Stop by the Raw Bar for a beer and some shrimp

I'll post some of the things I'm working on.  Hopefully I'll pass on some ideas that you may want to give a try.
