CARVING SWAP!

ATTENTION: Carving swap FOR WHO: Followers of Beginning Carvers Corner BY WHO: Beginners Carvers Corner (Thomp & Tom H) WHAT IT IS: We will pair up interested followers. Each member of the pair will complete a carving and mail it to their swap partner. HOW IT WORKS: If you are a follower and are interested just let us know. If you are not a follower, become a follower. You will have to let us know your name, address, and e mail address. Absolutely no Anonymous! We will make up the pairs, and send the names and addresses out. TIME FRAME: If you are interested, you must let us know by Halloween (Oct. 31, 2009) . The carvings must be completed and mailed during the week of: Dec. 1, 2009. This gives you one (1) month to complete the carving. CARVINGS: The carvings must be in good taste, can be any style, painted or natural, and should take between 2 and 8 hours to complete. They must be signed and dated. TWIST: This swap will also be a contest. To become considered in the drawing, You will want to take and send us a photo of your carving. We will post the photos and everyone can vote for their favorite. The follower who receives the most votes will win this hand made Straight razor carving knife. (cherry rough out) (Lace wood rough / detail) Knife Specs: 2 vintage German straight razor reground into professional quality woodcarving knives, one larger detail knife and one rough out knife. 1st place chooses among 2 knives, 2nd place will get the 2nd knife... CAUTION: If you sign up for this swap, you are obligating yourself to complete and send a carving to your swap partner. Failure to complete and mail a carving to your swap partner is an extremely serious matter. In most Internet swaps such an offender is referred to as a "Flake", as in flaked out. Some swaps take this so serious, that they have taken extreme steps to ensure that all participants complete the swap. Specially trained teams of thugs with secret cells in every state may be called in to "thump" the offending "Flake". REMEMBER: All you have to do to be a part of this swap is be a follower, and tell us you want to participate, and send us the required information.

You ever had problems following magazine articles while trying to carve them,? this is not blaming magazines, or authors, but our experience and level of understanding, after starting this thread on wci over the next 3 nights of sleeping on the idea, and waking up Shocked and looking for tools in the bed i figures out i better finish this one. here is a link on wci that i recently experienced carving the flying witch, and i wasnt ready to start i didnt understand the different depths of the face on this one Post comments about your direction understanding experiences please.

blog troubles

were having to fight this thing to keep it going, were loosing posts, comments and the followers we have are having trouble commenting and editing their profiles. be assured were working on the problem and reading all that gets posted.. were not blocking anyone from anything, we are not trimming the followers, this blog has lots of tinker toys on the right border, one of them seam to be fighting progress, and as i go through the items to find the problem you may see lot of extras disapear from the right panel... known problems: if your signed in with your blog id, and try to use an app that says sign on as follwer you will get an error that the information is incorrect, work around this by logging out of blog then return and use the app with your blog id when you sign in. like editing your self as a follower. and your trying to edit your information like adding a picture, real name, email or so on,

This blog is for wood carvers: beginners and experienced carvers alike. This blog is different from most blogs that you might visit. This blog is different, because we are inviting you to participate. We may post questions to be answered. We invite you to answer them, from your perspective. In fact we invite you to ask questions. We will include carving tutorials, and links to carving ideas and step-by-step instruction. We'll post carving tips and information. We'll be inviting some of you to post, once we get to know you. To participate, all you have to do is leave a comment. If you don't participate, that just means that Ol' Thomp and myself will be talking to ourselves. There are several places to comment, whether about the whole blog or a specific posting. And if you find this blog worthwhile, sign on to be a Follower. There will be special perks for Followers. There is one very important consideration though. Tell us who you are. If you want to participate in the Mentoring Program for instance, we'll have to have a way to communicate with you. Alright, we have achieved the beginnings of discussion. Please do not forget to read the disclaimer! Neither Ol' Thomp nor I necessarily believe some of the statements we post. Yep were still here and we are tinkering with a new look,, got tired of that center area little dark brown screen . folks let me know if the colors mess with your eyes or if its particularly nasty on your end. we may go back to the original..
