Thumb Guards

For a whittler (carving with a knife) the thumb guard is of great value.  Here's the proof!

Got to agree with you on that point Tom. I carve almost exclusively with a utility knife ( Stanley # 199 ) and if I didn't use a thumb guard my friends would be calling me "Old Nine Fingers" . I bought a pair of cheap leather work gloves, cut the thumbs off about 1-1/2" down, wrap that with a layer or 2 of Vet Wrap. At first it felt bulky, but now that i'm used to it, I can't carve without it. I have to replace the Vet Wrap every so often, but that's a small price to pay for having all 10 digits.

I love my thumb guard from you, Tom! I sent you a message on Facebook about them, in fact!
