Two Faced Santa
Here's how I sometimes carve Santa pins. Start with a 3/4 inch square x 6 inch piece of wood. Carve the Santa face on opposing corners. Be sure to have the hat tassel on the right side of one Santa and the left side of the other. After both are carved split the wood on the band saw or scroll saw. You can save wood, have a handle to hold onto, and I think it's safer to carve the faces in a square piece of wood.
