Whittlin Harmony #2
Part 2 of Whittlin Harmony involves a technique used when whittlin small objects. After all an important part of "Whittlin Harmony" includes not cutting yourself. Whenever I carve small objects like the little Santa's, I carve a bunch on the same stick; then cut them off. In this manner I always have a "handle" to hold on to. This also permits a maximum distance between my fingers and the knife blade. A note about the absence of a carving glove. I whittle where ever I find myself. In most places I find that the glove seems to be out of place. At least I find it an inconvenience. I am not advocating not using the glove. I just prefer not to in some situations. These Santa's are destined to be earrings.
